The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, and it is the only authoritative source of doctrine for Christians.

God

We believe that God is one; there is no other being equal to God.  God’s personal name is YHWH, and he is the Father of Jesus Christ.  God is the creator of all things.  God is immortal and has no beginning or end, and he has infinite knowledge and power.  He is perfect in all ways, and he desires to have a relationship with all of us.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus is the begotten Son of God, who was born of God’s Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary. Jesus is subordinate to God, his Father.  Jesus is the promised Savior, the Messiah/Christ who was sinless and died on the cross for the sins of all mankind.  He was mortal and remained in the grave for three days until God raised him.  Jesus is currently sitting at the right hand of God interceding for us, and one day he is going to return to earth to establish God’s Kingdom.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the presence and power of God and Christ given to those who are obedient to God and his son Jesus.  Individual gifts of the Spirit are given to believers to enable them to accomplish God’s purposes.  The fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control should be evident in the life of a believer.

Kingdom of God

We believe that the Kingdom of God is the ultimate hope that is offered to Christians from God, as we are offered citizenship in God’s coming Kingdom.  Jesus is going to descend from heaven to earth and establish God’s Kingdom here on earth, and then he will hand over the Kingdom over to God to rule forever.  Everything wrong with this world is going to be made right in God’s Kingdom.  God himself will dwell with us for all of eternity.  Jesus' main message that he preached about was about the Kingdom of God.

Nature of Man

We believe that God created mankind in his own image and is the supreme object of all of God’s creation. God created man from the earth, and then gave man the breath of life which enables man to live.  All of mankind is sinful and in need of salvation.  Man is mortal.  When a human experiences death, they rest in the grave and are without thought or memory.  This is known as the "sleep of the dead", as sleep is used as a euphemism for death frequently in the Bible.  When Jesus comes back to earth, Christians will be raised to everlasting life.
